| Star of the Sea School students take the Terra Nova Standardized Test, Metropolitan Readiness Test (MRT), and the Assessment of Catholic Religious Education (ACRE).
Terra Nova Standardized Testing
The Terra Nova is administered once a year in the Spring to students in grades 1-7. The primary purpose of this test is to provide educators with specific information that assists them in making professional judgements, assist teachers in curriculum planning, and track improvements as goals and strategies are changed or refined. Following the testing, parents receive a "home report" that presents a student's test scores and other relevant information. Each September, teachers develop Learning Plans based on areas of strengths and weaknesses. Review Spring 2007 Results here.
Assessment of Catholic Religious Education
The Assessment of Catholic Religious Education (ACRE) depicts the religious education strengths of the school and areas needing additional attention.
Metropolitan Readiness Test
The Metropolitan Readiness Test (MRT) is administered to students in Kindergarten. The MRT is a reliable measure to document skill development.
