Continuing in the tradition of excellence in education, Star of the Sea School is accredited by the Virginia Catholic Education Association (VCEA). The VCEA’s accreditation process has been approved by the Virginia Council for Private Education Committee on Accreditation, as authorized by the Virginia State Board of Education.

In addition, Star of the Sea School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) as evidenced by its strong academic performance and demonstrated dedication to the Faith Community. Star of the Sea was awarded re-accreditation with "exemplary" status in all three Design for Growth (DFG) Review areas. The three areas are: Evidence of Meeting Standards, Demonstration of Continuous Improvement and Providing Quality Assurance.
