Mrs. Morris teaches Fifth Grade Language Arts and Social Studies at Star of the Sea. She resides in Norfolk and was educated in the Norfolk Public schools. She graduated from Norfolk State University.
Catholic Education is not new to Mrs. Morris; she has been in Catholic education for over 20 years. Mrs. Morris has taught grades five through eight at St. Mary’s Academy in Norfolk and for a short time was Interim Principal. When the door of St. Mary’s closed seven years ago, God opened a new door and guided Mrs. Morris to the Oceanfront to teach the children at Star of the Sea. She has been a part of the SOS Family for seven years.
Mrs. Morris is active in the school community and co- sponsors the Student Council, is a Core Leader and a member of the Steering Committee for SACS - Design for Growth.
Mrs. Morris hopes to emulate one of her favorite teachers, Mrs. R. Brockett. Mrs. Brockett made fifth grade absolutely one of the best experiences and most memorable one for her students! Taking this at heart Mrs. Morris diligently strives to make fifth grade at SOS the “BEST” and to make her former teacher proud! Mrs. Morris loves to engage her students in numerous projects that could include some music, art, singing, and even a little creative dancing.
Mrs. Morris hopes to create a memorable, exhilarating, and engaging teaching moment or experience with each of the Thematic Units. She prides herself in bringing something different, special and unique to each group of fifth graders each year. She desires that her students will not just learn for the moment, but learn for life!
