Social Studies here at Star of the Sea covers history from ancient civilizations to the present day!  Our students learn "mapping" - a method of note-taking, produce awesome projects, and work hard at becoming geography geniuses.      

Our school offers a very active Student Council through the Social Studies department.  Our mission is to promote school spirit, to improve our school, and to help those in need.  In the past, our students have raised money to support a student in India,  to help Star of the Sea School in Mombasa, Kenya, and to buy various animals (including a llama!) to help villagers in Africa and South America.     

Mrs. Kellard has taught in many different states as her husband's naval career has sent them all over  the country and to a few places overseas. She believes her love of history and geography has grown through these travels.  Mrs. Kellard is a native of New York and an avid Yankee fan.  Go Yankees!!!
