"Our first teacher is our own heart" — Cheyenne

Ms. Elizabeth Houck-Azevedo moved to Virginia Beach from South Carolina after her completion of graduate school and marriage to her husband in October, 2006. The oldest of three children and the daughter of an Army Officer and college teacher, Ms. Houck has lived in many places in the United States, her favorite being southern Arizona.
Ms. Houck earned a Bachelor of Arts in French with a Math and Science Cognate, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of South Carolina, Columbia. She is delighted to return as a second year teacher to Star of the Sea School and pursue the vocation of teaching Mathematics in Catholic Education. Ms. Houck’s favorite subject to teach and learn is Math. Teaching and learning Mathematics is both a discipline and a skill. Ms. Houck’s mission is to instill enthusiasm in her students, and to help them develop critical thinking skills necessary for solving challenging, quantitative reasoning problems.
