Welcome to Religious Education!

Mrs. Grawl came to Virginia Beach from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended Catholic elementary, high school and college. Mrs. Grawl graduated from Neumann College in Aston, Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Grawl began teaching in the Catholic Schools system in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. She was educated and trained by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary who founded and staffed Star of the Sea School. She has extensive background and experience in Religious education and sacramental preparation, knowledge of the Catholic faith and Liturgy. Mrs. Grawl taught third grade for ten years at Star of the Sea School.

In her role as Religion Coordinator, Mrs. Grawl plans and coordinates the monthly school Liturgies. She trains and prepares the students to participate in the various roles of ministry and worship through which the children experience the joy of celebration and relating to God.

Mrs. Grawl also prepares and leads various prayer services and retreats for both the student body and faculty. She presents workshops and updates the faculty with Religion in-service and certification hours.

Mrs. Grawl is grateful for the gift of her Catholic faith and education and the privilige to share this gift at Star of the Sea.
