A native of the area, Mrs. Selig graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School and Norfolk Catholic High. Mrs. Selig has had the honor and pleasure of teaching for 28 years in the Hamptonroads area. She taught at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Elementary in Norfolk and was guided later towards Star of the Sea. Her daughters are Star of the Sea alumni.

Mrs. Selig is an active participant in the school community. She is a member of the SACS-Design for Growth Steering Committee. In addition, the Wheaton Walkers Relay for Life team and the Great Computer Challenge are two of Mrs. Selig's SOS interests.
