This WebQuest tailgates a trimester long unit on exploration that took us to the jungles of Africa and the mountain peaks of the Himalayas and the Alps. Now the road trip continues, as does our effort to include parents in our learning activities. Seventh grade students are in the driver’s seat as they begin to explore careers of interest in preparation for the high school selection process. Their task is to write an informal research paper about careers of interest and present their findings in a creative way. As with anyone learning to drive, they will not be in the car alone. A parent will serve as a driving instructor, dialoguing about his or her own experiences and advising their student.
