GRADE TWO & GRADE EIGHT INVESTIGATE LANDFILLS TOGETHER!

Our Second and Eighth Grade students kept Earth Day alive on Wednesday, 23 April 2008, by probing into landfills!  We know that we throw our trash away, but where does it go once it leaves our house?  Some of it goes to a recycle center, some of it goes to the RDF Plant (don’t know what an RDF Plant is?  Ask an Eighth grader, they do!) and the rest goes to the landfill.  We learned about the different layers of landfills and then we built our own . . . out of candy, of course!  Once we completed this fun and educational activity, we were able to devour them in no time flat!  Check out these great pictures!
