A native of Quincy, Massachusetts, Ms. Grandfield moved to Virginia Beach in 1982. Having attended Catholic school through high school, she wanted her two children to be challenged academically in the Christ-centered environment offered at Star of the Sea School. Ms. Grandfield’s daughter has graduated college and is now a Certified Public Accountant in Reston, Virginia. Her son is currently attending the University of Virginia.
Before joining the staff of Star of the Sea School, Mrs. Grandfield was a dental assistant for twelve years. After being a stay at home mom for a few years she decided to re-join the workforce and has been the Administrative Assistant at Star of the Sea School since 1991.
