Welcome to Star of the Sea School’s website. We are grateful for your interest in our school and we invite you to explore all aspects of our school via this site or in person. Star of the Sea has been educating children since 1958. We are a Catholic school which teaches the Catholic faith in an accepting and welcoming atmosphere. Star of the Sea School is always growing and evolving.

Star of the Sea School was staffed by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary for 38 years until the sisters withdrew in 1996. Since that time our outstanding lay faculty and staff continue many of the IHM teaching strategies and practices. In addition to teaching the basics: Religion, Reading, Phonics, Math, Science and Social Studies students have technology and library classes as well as art, music, Spanish and PE. Teachers use solid educational practices using creativity, technology and old-fashioned hard work to integrate our curriculum thus challenging Star of the Sea students to do their best.

As partners in education with the parents of our students, we strive to instill integrity, responsibility, acceptance, compassion and self-discipline in each child. As a result, the students demonstrate pride and possess qualities they can use to contribute positively to their school and community.
